Telecommunications Office Closed

The Telecommunications Office is now closed, in order to begin a billing system upgrade. The office will re-open at 11 a.m. Monday, November 9. During this period, online account access and online payments will be unavailable. If you have scheduled payments through QuikPAY your payments will be charged to your credit card as normal, however your Telecommunications account will not be updated with this payment until November 9. Directory search will continue to be available and will not be interrupted by this upgrade.

Emergency Alert System

Binghamton University has moved to the RAVE messaging system as its emergency email and text messaging provider. The new system will allow you to change or remove your ability to receive emergency alert notifications. All members of the campus community are encouraged to check their account.

To register go to https://www.getrave.com/login/binghamton and click the "Register Now" button. Your username is your current Binghamton University e-mail address.

Telecommunications Audio Bridge

The Telecommunications Department maintains an Audio Bridge capable of conferencing up to 18 people. This bridge is available free of charge to current faculty and staff. It can be reserved by contacting the Telecom office at 777-2524 or e-mailing telecom@binghamton.edu, with contact name, number, and department along with the date, time, duration, and number of participants of the conference call. You will be assigned a conference number and password. A toll free number is available for your participants if needed, however you will be billed $0.05 per minute, per participant for toll free conference call usage.

Video Conferencing Available

Video Conferencing equipment is available at multiple BU campus locations for use by Binghamton University Departments. These services are not available for rental by non campus agencies. There are no charge back fees associated with the use of the equipment. Reservations for all video conferences should be made in advance to allow time to schedule test call(s) with participating locations to verify compatiablity of systems and to conduct audio and video tests. When scheduling a video call be prepared to provide the name and telephone number of the video technician(s) at all participating location, the date and time of the video call and the ip address of each location.
